Yesterday there was a talk at the French playing-card museum about the physical characteristics of the Rothschild cards in the Louvre, reporting the results of a study carried out last year. The principal speakers were Victoria Fernandez from the Louvre and Kilian Laclavetine from the Centre for Research and Restoration of the Museums of France (C2RMF). Thierry made some contributions also.
The talk was filmed and can be viewed on Youtube. It's in French, but if your French isn't great, you can probably get some AI chatbot to give you a summary of the main points, or a translation of the automated transcript:

Re: Talk on Rothschild study
2Thanks for the heads up Nathaniel!
Note for others: The actual video commences about 20 minutes in - I was playing around with it for ages (well - a minute or so, if not to be hyperbolic about it) wondering why I had no sound or captions - duh!

Est-ce que l’étude apporte des éléments nouveaux sur la datation ou les techniques de fabrication par rapport aux hypothèses précédentes ?
