Before the Visitor Record was around 1400 or 1500, I remember, and it had happened a longer time ago. The usual results in this periode are 50 - 300 visitors in 20 minutes.

I checked the diffferent parts of the Forum:

Reception 65 guests
Researcher study 803 guests
Unicorn Terrace 216 guests
Bianca's Garden 165 guests
Exhibition Gallery 167 guests
Plush Parlor 89 guests
Library West Wing 94 guests
Library East Wing 189 guests
Library North Aisle 21 guests
Support 68 guests

65+803+216+165+167+89+94+189+21+68 = 1877

Yes, this is why I can't open up the registration process. If someone wants to register, they have to contact me directly. When I open up to register them, within five minutes I'll have twenty bots self-registering. Most of these instantly go inactive, for later re-activation and mischief.

We are under constant attack.

This value "11727" happened 3 days ago. I personally noted, that the webpage had problems to fulfill the usual functions in these days. very much "Service Unavailable" appeared ....

I was getting "503 service unavailable" messages on Chrome and Firefox browser for five days. I couldn't access the forum.

I wrote Robert about it, he couldn't access it either.

Now it is back, for the time being. I don't know what happened. But the visitors can't join.

"442" is at least close to our usual standard "ca. 50-300 visitors in 20 minutes" ...

Perhaps we should ask other Forum owners, if they had similar experiences in the last month.

I asked google ..."recent disturbances in the web forums". This was the top answer:

Worst thing about Facebook groups is the lack of pinned posts and organization, which any forum software had for ~20 years or so.

I think, this is not our recent problem.

The answers look more interesting, but I'm too stupid to interpret them.

It is a general feature, that a computer stops working, if there are too many commissions. If there are 11.000 commissions in 20 minutes instead of usual 50-300, it's not surprizing, that the website stops to work properly. It's known, that occasionally somebody used the strategy "too many commissions" to attack specific websites.

But perhaps that's not the only reason, why the number of commissions is occosional dramatically increased. For instance failures caused by the search engine programs or other technical reasons.
