Re: Trionfi.com: News and Updates
12Huck, it's SO NICE to visit the site without dealing with Frames! It looks great.
Re: Trionfi.com: News and Updates
13FRAMES are beautiful. FRAMES spare energy. FRAMES run quicker. FRAMES need much less mouse-activity. FRAMES are user-friendly, as in longer texts you don't need to search the navigation. FRAMES are an easy way to produce pages.robert wrote:Huck, it's SO NICE to visit the site without dealing with Frames! It looks great.
Well, true, frames don't display the correct adress in the browser. At trionfi.com ... if you'll want to get the address of a view, you in most cases have to right-click the content, get the page information, take the address, and cut the "t1.php". Then you have the calling address
If you wish to get a deck at trionfi.com, you only need the number ...
http://trionfi.com/m/d01111.htm
http://trionfi.com/m/d01112.htm
... etc.
It isn't that difficult
This specific page has no frames, as search engines are stupid. These stupid search engines terrorize webmasters.

15Internet Archive has a PDF of an 1882 edition (with introduction and notes) of "Das Goldene Spiel" by Meister Ingold, a very important early witness to cards, and a moralization on them (and 6 other games).

Re: Trionfi.com: News and Updates
16We've added two articles to the collection of appearances of the expression "Trionfi" in context of playing cards in 15th century:
http://trionfi.com/0/e/29b/
http://trionfi.com/0/e/29c/
One contains a report to a new finding by Ross Caldwell for November 1469, the painter Federico Bonacossi delivered a Trionfi deck. At the same list is also a very early note to the game Ronfa, which occasionally appears in context to Trionfi cards - it isn't really known, what sort of game this was. As far we know, this should be the second oldest note to the game, the older note refers to an allowance in Florence (1463), in which Trionfi, Ronfa and Cricha are allowed. In later prohibitions Trionfi is allowed, but Ronfa and Criche are forbidden.
compare: the Ronfa collection ... http://trionfi.com/0/p/19/
The second summarizes the information about a Trionfi card fresco in Pavia in 1469, already mentioned by Kaplan.

17For the current student protests in Vienna we've changed the title page of Trionfi.com
http://trionfi.com/
... .-) ... it has its funny moments.
btw. ... as it probably hadn't reached the English News, the student protests started about 10 days ago in the Academy of Art, went then to the central university in Vienna, where the audimax was occupied (which it is till today) and then to other Austrian universities. Many teachers and many German universities have expressed meanwhile their solidarity. The students act very disciplined.

18You're right - I haven't read about it in the French news either. I don't read very deeply in the news, however.Huck wrote:For the current student protests in Vienna we've changed the title page of Trionfi.com

But what is the protest about?
Re: Trionfi.com: News and Updates
19Mainly about the matter called "Bologna process" ... curious accident, if you think about it ... . Austrian students fear it, Germans already have it and are very discontent. But the Austrians have a broad palette of new ideas, they are somehow naiv compared to other young people I know, but they appear rather friendly and unusually patient, so as if they live in a sort of ectasy - probably caused by the last days, which gave them a new identity and unity and made them exhausted. A little bit some show a tendency of Messiasmism, as far I saw it by the webcam ... ... occasionally they are funny. But altogether very idealistic. Somehow a "Woodstock" aspect of Austrian dimensions. You're right - I haven't read about it in the French news either. I don't read very deeply in the news, however.

Well, as it seems, it can jump to Germany. And it might be a new form of youth movement.

Re: Trionfi.com: News and Updates
20The students movement has developed meanwhile and it seems, that cause it's almost peaceful appearance (and decentral structures) it gets broader acceptance from the Austrian population. General astonishment about the quickness and "good organisation" is expressed in the observing press from Switzerland: "Politik völlig überfordert von Rasanz der Studentenproteste 2.0" ... indicating, that the good organisation is based on web technology.
As it was exspected, it reached Germany, also Turin in Italy (the first jump to a foreign language).
