Is anyone in London interested in a wild goose chase? The papers of Dr. Otto Kurz, co-author with Dr. Richard Ettinghausen of the article on the Mamluk playing cards in the Topkapi Museum, are available to be viewed. Most likely they contain nothing of interest. But... they might have notes related to the Topkapi Decks. They might even have copies of the original photographs from the article. And wouldn't that be something to find?
I must repeat that this is unlikely to produce any results. Dr. Ettinghausen was the one who worked with Dr. Soucek to obtain the photographs of the cards. But you never can tell. If you're interested, please let me know.
