I've started this thread for posting links to hi-rez digital deck resources, starting with these 2 that I stumbled across last night -
Grand Eteilla Deck - I've run across the webpage of a kind gentleman who acquired an authentic 1890 deck and has posted reasonably large photos of each card of the Major arcana. (These photos are in a pdf file. The link is between the text and a big photo of the box - check out the box!!!)

Sounds wonderful to me. I don't know what these decks are (yet !), but I will let you all know as soon as I get one. I am excited over the idea of being able to sample and post some decent sized images if I write about them. These come in lo-rez and mid-rez jpg, and very hi-rez images. These are Mrsid files. Much like jpg2000 files. See the instruction I've already posted over at Adam McLean's collectors forum for getting the plugin -

Yes - Trionfi.com is famous. It's a digital monument to Tarot, and the most important source on the internet for scholarly material. I first got on the internet in 2004 and I discovered this site right away. I believe I must have been researching the Mantegna deck. I've been reading material on Trionfi.com for 6 years now. Since coming to this forum I have figured out that Huck must be the guy behind all this. Spectacular job Huck - thanx for all the hard work

So it's moved again ! When I first discovered the WWPCM it was on a '.narod.ru' domain, and the load time was painfully slow (although I was also on dial-up at that time . Then it had to move at least once ( There was an appeal for help from the curator). I don't know how many times it may have had to find new hosting since. Glad to see it has finally found a good home with Trionfi...

There's more than one mind behind Trionfi.com, some with greater parts, some with smaller ... .-) ... And it's a triumph of research and earlier unknown cooperation possibilities according the golden times of internet. ... ... And hopefully in some time we will be ready, and with some time to follow other aims.
Yes, Alexander Sukhorowsky had to wander around. Luckily we have a server now and it likely can stay there without limitation.

Very nice hi-rez photos of his own original copy, I believe. I really wish more people with historical decks were doing this. - I wish I had a few historical decks myself

This is the book about the deck by the publisher of the deck. Since it contains full color illustrations of all the cards, and since both the pdf and the accompanying jp2 files are very hi-rez, I'm including it here. You can enlarge the facsimile book page in the pdf until the card illo is quite large and it doesn't get blocky. The jp2 files are even better. At full size, you can see the moire of the actual printed page in the book. I suspect that they must be faithful reproductions of the original deck.

On one web page I read, De Lawrence is cited as "The mustachioed book pirate". I also see that Pamela Colman Smith was darn cute !

Well, one might ask, if De Laurence wouldn't have made this epigonic operation, if then the Smith-Waite deck would have become so popular as it did.
