I just want to say thanks for allowing me to become a member of the forum.
My own interest in Tarot goes back many years and I have a particular focus on the Renaissance and the oppression of non Christian belief systems until the enlightenment.
I tend to notice that a lot of scholarship that is still referenced when it comes to Tarot tends to be before the Nag Hammadi texts were made public and before academics understood the full reach and relationship between Hermeticism and Gnosticism, both of which I believe to be behind the symbols of the major arcana.
Text books printed up to the late 1990's and 00's are still in circulation even though they don't include this vital revisionism.
I look forward to comparing my own research with board members.
