2While we don't know the dating of the Sforza Castle card, I personally believe it is a sample of the type of cards that our remaining Tarot de Marseille decks are based on, regardless of the date of the actual deck itself.
I suspect that this is just another case of degradation to an image by sloppy copying by unconcerned cardmakers. I'd certainly be much more likely to accept an early Man and Woman degrading into god knows what, turning later into twins.
