A propos de deux "cassones " datés l'un de 1466 et l autre de 1442 - portant l emblème des Medicis en possible corrélation iconographique avec le Chariot du TdChVI.

Hi
Thanks.
It is a collective work. Well, i have my part also...
In 2008, i had published a synthesis on trionfi;com.
It was immediatly translated in Portuguese by Constantino K. Riemma
http://www.clubedotaro.com.br/site/h23_ ... onneur.asp
Since, the research, mainly initiated by Huck Meyer from a long time discussion between us two about the French "fleur de lys" in the Medicis Stemma,was discussed here by the main contributors - specifically related to the Charioter of the TdCh Vi;
The final article is a synthesis of our investigations :
Le Tarot dit de Charles VI : la piste florentine :

Belated question Alain (or whomever can answer),
Whose arms are quartered with the Medici rings on the man leading the triumphal chariot on foot? It is not an insignificant position, especially in light of the contemporary Medici chapel Magi fresco (1459-61) where the man leading before Piero's horse (and Piero's personal stemmi are all over this cassone), also on foot, has been identified as a Martelli, who were instrumental in putting down the brief rebellion of the Albizzi when Cosimo returned in 1434. So whomever is leading the chariot might be construed as Medicean "muscle". In that regard, that's not Alessandro Sforza's stemma is it? The (Sforza-)Visconti radiant sun is otherwise certainly prominent throughout (to the right of the Fool's knee and on a foot soldier's shield in the left of the panel).

HI Phaeded

The Medici rings are evident.
Now whose arms are "quartered" with them?
The suggestion would be rather the Martelli hypothesis .
Maybe Steve could be more categorical

The difficulty was to present an "objective synthesis" (?) of what was known about the TdChVI.
The reader may be disappointed because there is no "definitive" conclusion...
That's not so bad! The TdChVI remains somewhere a "mystery"...
